New breakfast and lunch spot Egg Sammie has opened in southwest Vegas at 7379 S. Rainbow Boulevard #170, serving casual, creative breakfast sandwiches and more. Chef and partner Brian Chan is behind the menu, which includes the Fremont, a soft-scrambled egg sandwich with caramelized onions, fried provolone cheese and roasted garlic aioli on thick-cut brioche Texas toast, and the Steak n’ Potatoes with eggs, red wine-braised beef shortrib, crispy hash brown waffle, arugula and pickled red onions. Egg Sammie is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Sahara Las Vegas brought on chef Guoming “Sam” Xin to create a new Chinese culinary concept to launch at the renovating hotel and casino later this year. Xin is renowned for his hand-pulled noodles and as the founder of the local Noodle Man restaurant concept. He’s worked at Wynn, the Cosmopolitan and Caesars Palace in his years of food and beverage experience in Las Vegas.
Locale in Mountain’s Edge is hosting a collaborative wine dinner with Sonoma County’s Hartford Family Winery on March 24 at 7 p.m. and tickets are $100 per person. Chef Nicole Brisson and executive sous chef Tony Serrano will create five courses to be paired with Hartford’s Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and Zinfandels, including ricotta and spring green ravioli and grilled quail with marinated chicories and charred kumquats. Tivoli Village steakhouse and butcher shop Echo & Rig has some new dishes on the menu complements of chef Sam Marvin. Among the new offerings are braised lamb shank with house-made chili paste, blue cheese potato agnolotti, air-dried chicken finished with a Peking glaze, “baseball cut” sirloin steak with whiskey marinade and Idaho Snake River Steelhead trout with baby artichokes, Calabrian chilies, white wine and herbs.
Downtown’s Pawn Plaza has a new tenant, BLVD Coffee, which means the small dining and shopping center adjacent to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is now fully leased. The new coffee spot is operated by the family of Bishop Gorman High School basketball coach Michael Carter and opens daily at 8 a.m.
